Talk to your markets.

Live on Solana & Base

Alfred is a voice-first, self-custodial crypto co-pilot. You ask out loud, “How’s SOL looking?” and Alfred reads the chart back, surfaces what’s moving, and lets you swap on-chain in a tap. Your keys never leave you. Alfred can’t touch your coins.

This guide walks you through every screen: where things live, what each one does, and how to get the most out of Alfred, in plain language.

Alfred is informational and not financial advice. You stay in control of every decision and every signature.

Get started

Open the app

Alfred runs right in your browser, with nothing to download to get started.

  1. Go to app.askalfred.chatOpen app.askalfred.chat in any modern browser on your phone or desktop.
  2. Add it to your home screen (recommended)On iPhone: Share → “Add to Home Screen”. On Android: menu → “Install app”. It then opens full-screen like a native app.
  3. Sign inUse your email or Face ID, and Alfred sets up a wallet for you automatically. See the next section.
Installing to the home screen makes Alfred load faster on the second open and feel like a real app. The native iOS app is on the way.

Get started

Sign in & your wallet

No seed phrase to write down, no extension to install. Alfred gives you a wallet the moment you sign in, and you can always bring your own.

Sign in with email or Face ID

Enter your email and confirm the one-time code (or use Face ID). Behind the scenes, a secure embedded wallet is created for you on the Base network. Setup takes under a minute and there’s no seed phrase to manage.

Bring your own wallet

Prefer your existing wallet? Connect Phantom, MetaMask or any WalletConnect-compatible wallet from the Wallets tab. You can also track any address read-only to watch a portfolio without connecting.

Self-custodial by design. Whether it’s the built-in wallet or your own, the keys stay with you. Alfred can read balances and prepare transactions, but every move is signed by you, so Alfred can never move your funds.

The interface at a glance

Alfred is built around one big voice orb up top and five tabs along the bottom. That’s the whole app.

The voice orb

The glowing orb in the center is how you talk to Alfred. Tap it, speak, and it answers out loud. The Listen button reads your briefing back hands-free.

The five tabs

TabWhat it’s for
BriefingYour daily state-of-the-book: what’s up, what needs you, and a few moves to consider.
PortfolioLive total value across all your wallets, with cash, spot and perps in one number.
TradingSwap tokens on Base and Solana, and open leveraged positions.
RadarDiscover trending, brand-new and meme tokens with live charts.
WalletsManage your built-in wallet, connect external ones, and track addresses.

Core features

Talk to Alfred with the Voice Orb

This is the heart of Alfred. Instead of digging through ten dashboards and twenty tabs, you just ask.

How to use it

  1. Tap the orbYou’ll see “Tap to talk”. Tap it once to start listening.
  2. Ask out loude.g. “How’s SOL looking?”, “What’s trending right now?”, “How’s my portfolio doing today?”
  3. Alfred answersHe replies out loud and pulls up the live chart or data on screen. Hands-free.

The Listen button

On your Briefing, tap Listen and Alfred reads your brief aloud, which is handy while you make coffee or commute.

Alfred’s brain runs on Claude and his voice on ElevenLabs. He understands plain questions about your book and the market, with no commands to memorize.

Core features

Briefing

“Alfred’s Brief” is your home screen: the state of your book and a few moves worth a look today.

What you’ll see

  • A greeting + summary line: “Good afternoon. Here’s what needs you.”
  • Your day at a glance: today’s change %, number of alerts, and recent transactions.
  • Listen: play the whole brief aloud.
  • Needs you / All quiet: a card that flags anything that wants your attention. When nothing’s urgent, it simply says All quiet and tells you it’ll ping you the moment something moves.
  • Ask Alfred anything: a text box at the bottom if you’d rather type than talk.
The Briefing total uses the same live source as your Portfolio tab, so the numbers always match.

Core features

Portfolio

One honest number for everything you hold, updated live across every wallet you’ve added.

How your total is calculated

Your total value is simply:

Total = Cash + Spot + Perps
Cash (e.g. USDC in your wallet) + the live value of your spot tokens + the value of any open leveraged positions.

Alfred merges your built-in wallet, connected wallets, and tracked addresses into a single view, so you’re never adding things up by hand.

Core features

Trading & Swaps

Buy and sell on-chain in a tap. Alfred prepares the trade; you sign it. Always self-custodial.

Spot swaps

NetworkRouted viaGas you need
Base0x (best-price routing across DEX liquidity)A little ETH on Base
SolanaJupiterA little SOL

Open a token, enter an amount (or tap Max), review the quote, and confirm. Alfred checks your balance first and blocks the swap if you don’t have enough, so you avoid failed transactions from guesswork.

Perps (leverage)

Alfred supports leveraged positions through Avantis on Base. You’ll see the available markets and can open or close positions from the Trading tab.

Why a token sometimes says “No liquidity”

A brand-new pump.fun token that hasn’t “graduated” yet can be charted but not swapped, because the router can’t find a trade route until it has real liquidity. The chart reads the bonding curve; trading needs a liquid market. This is expected, not an error.

Crypto is volatile and you trade at your own risk. Alfred shows data and prepares transactions. It does not give financial advice, and every signature is yours.

Core features

Radar

Catch the move the second it starts running, so you’re early instead of exit liquidity.

What Radar scans

  • Trending: tokens with momentum right now.
  • New: freshly launched tokens as they appear.
  • Memes: the meme-coin corner, for the degens.

Tap any token to open its live chart (powered by DexScreener) with price and activity. From there you can jump straight to a swap if it’s tradable.

You can also just ask: “What’s trending?” and Alfred reads the Radar back to you out loud.

Core features

Wallets

Your built-in wallet, your own wallets, and any address you want to watch, all in one place.

Three ways to use a wallet

TypeWhat it isBest for
Built-in walletCreated for you on sign-in (on Base). No seed phrase to manage.Getting started fast.
Connected walletPhantom, MetaMask & others via WalletConnect.Using funds you already hold.
Tracked addressWatch any public address, read-only.Monitoring a portfolio without connecting.

Alfred merges all of them into your Briefing and Portfolio totals automatically.

You hold the keys. Connected and built-in wallets are self-custodial. Alfred never has the ability to move your assets.

Core features

Alerts

Let Alfred watch the market so you don’t have to babysit charts.

Alerts flag meaningful moves and surface them in your Briefing’s “Needs you” card. They’re purely informational, so you don’t need a wallet connected to use them, and they never trigger a trade on their own.

Essentials

Self-custody & security

The one rule that shapes everything: your keys, never his.

  • Self-custodial. Keys live with you, in your built-in wallet or your own connected wallet.
  • Every trade is signed by you. Alfred prepares transactions; nothing leaves your wallet without your signature.
  • Alfred can’t move your funds. No custody, no withdrawals on your behalf.
  • Not financial advice. Alfred gives you data and context to decide for yourself.
Treat your wallet like cash. Never share your recovery details, and double-check token addresses before you trade.

Essentials

Networks & assets

What you can trade, and what you can watch.

AssetIn Alfred
Crypto on Base (EVM)Tradable, spot swaps + perps
Crypto on SolanaTradable, graduated / liquid tokens via Jupiter
Fresh pre-graduation pump.fun tokensChartable, not yet swappable (see “No liquidity”)
Stocks, forex, commoditiesWatchlist only, you can track prices but not trade in-app
Market prices and search are powered by CoinGecko; charts and discovery by DexScreener.

Essentials

Fees & gas

A quick note on what you need in your wallet to trade.

  • Base swaps need a small amount of ETH on Base to pay network gas. A USDC-only wallet with zero ETH can’t swap until you add a little ETH.
  • Solana swaps only need a little SOL for gas.
  • Routing uses best-price quotes (0x on Base, Jupiter on Solana); the quote you confirm already reflects price impact.
If a Base swap won’t go through, the usual cause is no ETH for gas. Alfred tells you exactly what’s needed instead of failing silently.

Troubleshooting

The app is slow on first load

The very first open after a while can take a few seconds to wake up. After that it’s fast, especially once you’ve added it to your home screen.

My changes / updates aren’t showing

If you installed Alfred to your home screen, it may be holding a cached version. Remove the home-screen icon, reopen app.askalfred.chat in your browser, then add it to the home screen again.

My wallet shows $0 or “Create wallet”

Make sure you’re signed in and a wallet is connected or created. Once Alfred sees an address, your balance appears, including USDC cash.

A swap won’t complete

Check you have gas: ETH on Base or SOL on Solana. If the amount is greater than your balance, lower it or tap Max.

A token says “No liquidity”

It’s a fresh token without a tradable market yet (common for pre-graduation pump.fun coins). You can chart it; you can’t swap it until it has liquidity.
